Holiday Travel

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

As I’ve gotten older and married, my family has shifted from spending the holidays at my parents’ house to traveling during this time of year. Last year we went to Hawaii and next year we’re going to Spain.

Due to some health problems, this year we stayed stateside at an Arizona country inn. Although it wasn’t in Europe, this bed and breakfast was voted one of the best B&B inns in the world and now I know why! They offered tremendous personal service and had luxury log cabins and rooms. With the beautiful mountains of Northern Arizona surrounding us, the vacation was a relaxing and fun time with family.

We went skiing nearby and raced on snowmobiles. At night we went dancing, relaxed in the hot tub, and enjoyed dinner at the local grill restaurant that served fabulous food! We also played card games in the huge rooms.

For a little romantic time, my husband and I watched the stars, got massages, and slept in late. We were even able to catch up on the real world with wi-fi wireless network.

It was the best holiday yet. We had so much fun spending time together and returned feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated. Consider traveling away from home your next holiday, and leave all the holiday tasks to someone else!

A Well-Deserved Vacation

My parents take an annual vacation in October to an exotic location like Mexico or Brazil. This year my husband and I decided to do the same. We booked a vacation in Switzerland. I’ve always wanted to see Europe, and Switzerland seemed like the perfect, central location.

We planned a few of our activities, but left ourselves free time at night to relax or explore, according to what we felt. Surprisingly, my favorite part of the vacation was hiking the Swiss Alps. I thought it would be too difficult, but it was a very exhilirating experience. Some of the hikes were quite easy. Best of all, the air was clean and fresh, and the views unsurpassed. There was such beautiful scenery!

Overall, our vacation turned out to be just what we needed–a mix of the outdoors, comfy hotels, delectable new food, and an exploration of a new culture. We picked the best adventurous vacation, maybe we’ll have to go back next year.

Time to Plan your Winter Getaway!

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

As of Sunday, the 23rd, fall has officially begun!  And that means the skiing season in Utah is getting ready to start!

Utah is hands down one of the best places to ski or snowboard in the country, if not the world.  Famous winter resort towns such as Park City and Sundance attract thousands of visitors each year to enjoy “the greatest snow on Earth.”

Perhaps a winter Utah outdoor adventure is just what you need!  Whether a fun trip with your girlfriends or a romantic getaway with your sweetheart, start planning for one of the most fun and enjoyable winter vacations you will ever take!

Utah Mountain Biking

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

So my girlfriends and I just took a (much needed) very relaxing weekend trip to Park City, Utah.  Relaxing by the pool, shopping, and the spa treatments were fabulous, but surprisingly one my favorite parts was Utah mountain biking.  I know – who would have thought, right?  Exercise being that much fun?  But it was!  Not only was it a great calorie-burning workout, but the scenery was stunning.  Most people don’t think of Park City (or Utah in general) as a summer getaway, but the warm months are just as enjoyable as the world-famous winter skiing season!  Park City next summer, anyone?  Maybe this time we should stay more than three days.

Need a Vacation? Join the Club…

My girlfriend told me about something absolutely fabulous…outdoor adventure trips just for women. Apparently there are number of companies that offer all sorts of different trips, both domestically and internationally; anywhere from kayaking in the Caribbean to an African Safari, or Utah outdoor recreation at Zion National Park to back packing the Applichian Trail for the more rugged of us girls. There are numerous trips available to cater to all demands, whether you are a country girl or city gal. So if you need a break from the kids…try going on an outdoor adventure trip with some girlfriends. It could be an amazing, cathartic bonding experience.
