Party Time

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

With my Mom barely out of surgery, I decided to host the family’s annual holiday party the day after Christmas. To ease my holiday stress, I hired a renowned Salt Lake City caterer to bring the food while I worried about the decorations and location. Everything came together beautifully so I could enjoy mingling and chatting with all my guests. I love the holidays!

Lesson Learned the Hard Way

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Many of us know that the cliché “you get what you pay for” is definitely true when it comes to certain situations and industries.  Silly me, I didn’t think it would apply to catering…a lesson I learned the hard way.

I was hosting a cocktail party for my best friend’s birthday.  With the help of her husband and my husband, we planned a fabulous little surprise get together for about 50 of our closest friends.  Since we decided to have an open bar, I decided to help cut costs by hiring a catering service that was less expensive than other caterers in the area.

Big mistake!  The guests were only able to choose from two entrees, the food was mediocre (at best), and the staff was comprised of awkward, clumsy high schoolers.  Not to mention, they almost ran out of food…there were only 50 people!

Just remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to catering!  The caterer you want may be more expensive but it will definitely be worth it.  I should have gone with the Utah caterer a friend recommended.  Oh well.  Hopefully everyone was too drunk to care!

Organizing a Party? Choose the Right Salt Lake City Catering Company

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

I just organized a huge event in Salt Lake City, and spent a lot of time agonizing over all of the details. There are so many things to consider when you’re planning a party for 120 people. This wasn’t even a wedding! It was my parents-in-law’s 50th wedding anniversary, and we needed top-notch entertainment, food, and decorations.

The entertainment and decorations were fairly easy, but choosing a Salt Lake City catering company was a bit more difficult. It always seems that people remember an event as being successful if the food is good. If the food is lousy, the event is seen as being a failure. I couldn’t fail my in-laws.

As I spoke with different catering companies, I realized that I had to get along with the team that would be fulfilling my order. I had to be comfortable that they could handle the size of the party. If I felt they weren’t sharp, I would worry the whole time that they would screw up the order or that the food wouldn’t turn out, or our guests would be left hungry.

In the end, the event turned out perfectly because the company I chose, Culinary Crafts, went above and beyond to make sure the food was superb, the display was beautiful, and my guests were never hungry. All of the guests were extremely pleased, and everyone talked about what a great event it was, and how good the food was. Just what I wanted to hear!

Need Fabulous Catering?

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

I work as an executive assistant for a rather large corporation in

Salt Lake City.  Not as glamorous as it sounds, the job involves a lot of tedious grunt work, including a recent corporate formal dinner I had to put together. Ugh

Among the gazillion things I had to take care of, finding the perfect caterer was probably the most challenging.  Isn’t the food what sets the ambiance of an event? The menu and presentation would surely make or break the affair. Not to mention, the job the caterer did would reflect directly on my company.

So finding the perfect

Utah corporate caterer was not the easiest job; I must have interviewed nearly 50 different companies!  But once I found them, everything seemed to fall in place.  The cater and I worked together closely to figure out the perfect menu, the venue setup, and all the decorations.  I must say, they did a fabulous job! Much better than I had anticipated.  They brought in really chic lounge furniture that really gave an “uber chic” feeling to the party.  The food presentation was beyond picturesque (we had “floating buffets”) and it tasted absolutely delectable.

Needless to say, the event was a smash and actually resulted in quite a nice pay raise. So if you live in the area and are in need of a fabulous caterer for a business event, family reunion, or your wedding, this Best in State caterer does it all.
