10 Wedding Caterer Questions

Monday, September 22nd, 2008 by CurlySue

The food at your wedding accounts for about 48% of your total budget–if you want great food, that is. But with so many options for wedding caterers, it can be a little stressful to narrow it down to the one that is the best for your type of wedding. I’ve helped a few siblings plan their weddings and here are some of the questions I asked the Salt Lake City catering company we used.

  1. What type of food do you specialize in?
  2. After receiving the time, date, season, and motif of my wedding, which type of food do you suggest?
  3. How many other weddings are booked for that same day? Will you have ample time to devout to my wedding?
  4. Are you appropriately licensed?
  5. What service costs are included and which ones are additional?
  6. How much time do you  need to adequately set up and take down?
  7. Is there a discounted food charge for children?
  8. Do you have any referrals and pictures from previous events?
  9. Will your style of linens and dishes match the look and feel I want for my wedding?
  10. What is all included in your average contract?

These questions will help you narrow down the search and find the right caterer for your wedding. After all, it is your special day and it should be perfect.

Fall 2008 Fashion Trends

Friday, September 19th, 2008 by CurlySue

If you didn’t have the money or the time to actually go to the recent fashion and runway shows, take a look at the new trends for this fall.

  • Dresses Galore: Yes! I adore wearing dresses. This fall/winter dresses are in: pencil dresses, belted swing coats, and a curvy dress. Even though dresses are in, most of them are not skin tight.  They are comfortable and even loose-fit.

  •  Classic Business Attire: Full tailored jackets and wide-legged pants for the office are in this season.

  • Jeweled Tones: Anything jewel-toned is in and beautiful. I am so excited about this!

  • Mini Trenches: Again, I am so excited about this one. Trenches that hit mid-thigh or above gives you a curvaceous and classic look.

  • Everything Purple: Deep purple is great for any article of clothing or accessory.

The one problem with learning about this upcoming season’s fashion trends is that you feel you have to buy a whole new wardrobe—which, let’s face it, can get a tad pricey. Try looking into some wholesale clothing to get all the hottest trends, but at much better prices. That is my plan.
